Education and outreach materials

The Center's public record also lists posters and books made for classrooms and community groups. Topics include Harpy Eagles, raptor conservation, smuggling prevention, King Vultures, the Bearded Wood Partridge, and the parrots of Latin America.

One of the most visible items is a Spanish language coloring book called Los Loros y su Mundo, or Parrots and Their World. The coloring page describes the book and offers new line art for classroom use.

Where to find them

The Center's earlier pages directed readers to Buteo Books for its publications. Availability may have changed. Contact the Center for current information about a specific title, and use the printable reading list below as a starting point.

Use and citation

Rights to figures, photographs, and long passages may rest with individual authors or publishers. Contact the Center before reusing material. For citation, use the title and editor information recorded above, and include the place and year of the workshop when they are known.

The Center's publications are a record of their time. Some names, place spellings, and scientific classifications may have changed since they were printed. A current field guide or taxonomic authority is the better source for present day names.
