How to use these illustrations

The drawings are original work made for this site. You may print or share them for classroom and family use with credit to this website. Please do not imply that the Center endorses a lesson, product, or campaign. For commercial use, contact the Center first.

The illustrations are stylized rather than field accurate. They are meant to suggest the character of each bird, not to serve as identification plates. Use a current field guide for identification.

About the original photo page

The Center's earlier website included field photographs by named photographers. Those images are not reproduced here. Rights may rest with the photographers or the Center. If you need a photograph for a publication, contact the Center with the species, the intended use, and the credit line you can offer.

This page replaces the old photo gallery with new illustrations. The change is deliberate: it keeps the focus on the birds and avoids reusing images without a clear license.
